Esther Chu, RCC And CCC

Hello and welcome. I’d love to collaborate with you to help you find healing and clarity through counselling. I care deeply about meeting you wherever you are at and walking beside you on your journey. My approach is holistic and culturally-sensitive. I am particularly attuned to the intersectionality of your life experiences. What that means is there are many aspects of ourselves and our life experiences that are interconnected and can influence how we see ourselves and how the world might categorize us. These include things like: age, sex, gender, skin colour, sexual orientation, ethnicity, faith, (dis)ability and social class, to name a few. I am skilled at holding the big picture of what might be influencing you and your current situation.

I get excited about working with clients who have complex, multi-layered issues going on. Additionally, I have a soft spot in my heart for those who struggle with grief or depression (including post-partum depression).

I would love to help you feel empowered in your own life to make the changes that feel true and important for you.

Outside of the Therapy Room

My approach to counselling often looks like a blend of different therapies to keep our work well-rounded; my personal life is similar. Outside of the therapy office I am often indulging in a videogame with friends, at the gym, hiking, or trying a new restaurant with those close to me. I love to travel to experience new cultures and admire nature in its different forms.

I also am a cat mom to a lovely Ragdoll-Siamese kitten who may pop in to say hello during our sessions together.
