I believe we all have certain life themes, recurring patterns and wounds from previous events or past trauma. I help clients explore recurring life patterns and heal, so these patterns become sources of growth and self-awareness. Although healing can sometimes take time, it is possible to get to a point where our themes become our friends and our gifts, not our triggers.
I have found that clients come to see me when they are feeling stuck or confused or perhaps struggling with the impact of past trauma. This may include feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, grief or questioning of your self-worth. I am experienced in working with clients who are going through sudden complex life transitions, such as approaching end-of-life, grief, loss, illness, divorce, etc.
I use trauma-informed, attachment-based counselling approaches including EMDR, Gestalt, Transpersonal, spiritual and experiential methods. My approach is tailored to you, with an emphasis on collaboration. I believe that if you feel good about who you are on the inside, it affects every aspect of your life – your relationships, your stress level, your work life, your self-trust and your inner well-being.
I would love to help you to uncover your unique strengths, gifts and qualities and move towards greater life satisfaction. I get excited about helping you to build your self-trust and your inner well-being.
Part of my work is now mentoring and clinical supervision of new and experienced therapists.
Please book a free 15-minute consultation to see if I would be a good fit for you. I look forward to connecting with you online or in person.
These are areas where I feel I have a lot of experience in guiding clients towards positive outcomes:
I just really love people, and I like to engage in social activities like group games, Improv, yoga, choir, etc. And I need a balance of quiet reflection time, being outside in nature or just walking the dog, revelling in the moments, and taking in the beauty of the Sunshine Coast. Camping, boating, reading, and hanging out with loved ones are high on my list of fun. I also work on my own self-development through workshops, meditation, Reiki, and journalling.
