Journey Through Trauma – Group Therapy

Have you been through adverse experiences such as neglect, trauma, bullying or dysfunctional parenting? In this 4-week group we will explore about how trauma may have impacted you in terms of your sense of self and your understanding of power. We will focus on building your sense of safety in relationships, boundaries, and grounded self-esteem.

Taking part in a supportive group can amplify your own personal growth through relating to others with similar concerns. Our aim is to create a sense of belonging, optimism and belief that change is possible.

This group meets twice monthly in person or online (depending on demand).

Dates: Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (April 24, May 8, May 22, June 5th, 2025)

Location: 1682 West 7th Ave, Unit 300, Vancouver

Cost: $50 per session ($200 for all 4 sessions). You will be issued a receipt that can be used with most benefits programs that cover psychotherapy.

Women’s Support Group With Therapist Sandy Kirkwood

I once participated in a 3-year therapy group as part of my counsellor training. It changed my life. For me, the experience of group therapy provided many benefits including the opportunity to have deep conversations with others in a supportive, safe environment. It increased my self-awareness, which led to a more grounded self-confidence and better relationships. It also opened my heart and deepened my compassion through witnessing and being inspired by the growth and changes of others in the group.

It may sound scary to imagine yourself talking about yourself in front of others. Creating a warm, safe, caring environment is one of my strengths

This group is for you if you would like to:

  • Have a place to talk about your life, your relationships, your worries, and anything else that has you feeling stuck
  • Focus on improving your life situation in a concentrated space of time
  • Increase your feelings of self-worth and confidence
  • Gain clarity about yourself and your life situation

Dates – May 2025 – To Be Announced. Join the wait list or find out more by emailing [email protected].
