Neelu Din, CCC (Canadian Certified Counsellor)

Hello and welcome. As a therapist I bring years of experience working with diverse communities and I also know what it’s like to begin again in a new culture. It can be very disorienting as you are learning different nuances of language, social norms and work practices. Whatever your situation, my goal in counselling is to offer a space where you don’t have to face things alone. I provide a calm, compassionate presence as we explore what feels heavy and build upon your strengths.

If you are navigating a huge life transition such as moving to a new place, here are some common issues that can come up:

  • Identity and self-esteem issues
  • Loneliness, feeling like an outsider
  • Self-doubt
  • Loss and grief
  • Racism and microaggressions
  • Job discrimination
  • Different values about family boundaries
  • Socio-economic changes
  • Parenting difficulties
  • Intergenerational trauma and conflicts
  • Spiritual or existential distress
  • Mixed-culture marriages/raising mixed-culture children

I know it can feel isolating and overwhelming trying to meet everyone’s expectations while quietly wondering what you truly want. Over time, this can leave you feeling disconnected and doubting your worth. Carrying it all alone can be exhausting. I’m here to assist you with a warm compassionate heart, plus over 9 years of counselling experience.
